Laurel Plane Crashes Into Home Thursday [VIDEO]: Pilot Severely Injured Despite Residence Being Empty

Laurel plane crashes into home around 10 a.m. Thursday, leaving nobody dead, only a seriously injured pilot.

Inside the mobile home that this Laurel plane crashes into was empty inside. It was a small plane that had no passengers on board and actually hit into two mobile homes.

Ronald Dixon, 70, was the pilot of the Laurel plane that crashes into the homes in Anne Arundel County of Maryland. He was seriously injured in the crash, but according to a spokesperson with the county fire department said it is not a life-threating injury. He was "conscious and alert" at the scene of the crash.

Witnesses told the Baltimore Sun that they heard sputtering in the sky and heard a boom when they came outside of their homes. They also said they witnessed the plane hit trees on its way to hitting two mobile homes and landing in one of them.

One of the wings from the Beechcraft Musketeer plane was detached while the other struck the wall of the mobile home.

"Investigators from the Maryland State Police, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Transportation Security Administration are on the scene of a plane crash with injury in the Maryland City area of Anne Arundel County," according to the Maryland State Police statement released.

The reason for the crash is being investigated.
