Dwayne Wade Ex-Wife, Children's Mother Homeless, On Streets With Sign to Humiliate Wade [VIDEO]; Wade has Full Custody of Children; Seeks $2 Million in Damages
Dwayne Wade's ex-wife and the mother of his children, Siohvaughn Funches, is on the streets of Chicago carrying a sign that says the Miami Heat guard has left her homeless.
Dwayne Wade's children's mother carries a sign reading "NBA Miami Heat star mother of his children on the street" around Chicago, the city where Wade is from, and where he and Funches were high school sweethearts, marrying in 2002.
The couple divorces in 2007 after having two children, Zaire Blessing Dwayne Wade and Zion Malachi Auramis Wade.
Funches filed a new lawsuit against Dwayne Wade over splitting the proceeds from his many endorsement deals earlier this month. Dwayne Wade signed a six year contract with the Heat in 2010 worth $107 million. Including endoresments, Dwayne Wade made $26 million last year. He was in the #12 spot on Sports Illustrated's Fortunate 50 list of the top earners in professional sports. Dwayne Wade endorses companies such as Gatorade, T-Mobil and Staples.
Dwayne Wade was born on the South Side of Chicago and went to Marquette University. Dwayne Wade was named 2006 Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated. He entered the league as the fifth pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and was named to the All-Rookie team and the All-Star team. In 2008-09, Dwayne Wade lead the league in scoring. In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing China, Wade led the US men's basketball team in scoring as they captured the gold medal. Dwayne Wade has won 3 NBA championships.
The 2008 divorce settlement between Siohvaughn Funches and Dwayne Wade requires that Wade deposit proceeds from his endorsement deals into a joint account.
The divorce included a bitter custody battle over the children. Wade has sole custody of the children.
Funches is seeking $2 million in damages.
