'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: Henry Cavill Says Superman Role Won’t ‘Stop Me’ From Playing Christian, But Will His Schedule?

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie has a release date and director, but no cast yet. Henry Cavill, a "Fifty Shades of Grey" fan favorite, now says his Superman role won't affect his ability to be cast or to play Christian Grey, should he be offered the role.

Headline & Global News reported that Cavill does not see a conflict in playing both Superman and Christian Grey.

"I'm very much a storyteller, I enjoy telling stories and if there is a wonderful story to tell than I don't think having played the role of Superman will necessarily stop me from telling that story," he said.

"The chances are it will very much be a different vehicle than what Superman is, so it won't damage any of that character...because they'll see two very different things on screen," Cavill continued.

According to The Examiner, the "Man of Steel" star said he would be interested in "Fifty Shades of Grey" as long as the script was well-written and drew him to the role of Christian.

However, The Examiner notes that Cavill's schedule may too full to allow him to take on another film. His next film, "Man From U.N.C.L.E," is expected to shoot in September, the same time "Fifty Shades of Grey" will begin filming.

Another fan favorite for the role of Christian, Ian Somerhalder, also has commitments this fall, as "The Vampire Diaries" will be back on and won't break until the holidays, The Examiner reports.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" has an official release date of August 1, 2014.
