Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Release Date Delayed, CyanogenModTouches Allows Smartphone Owners To Get New Update

The release date for the latest version of Android’s operating system is a frustrating topic for many android users. Some are patient while others feel that the updates should have already been released. Unfortunately for some, the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S3 update, Android 4.2. Jelly Bean, has been moved again, according to Phones Review.

The Sidhtech blog, however, said that through the CyanogenModTouches, owners of Samsung Galaxy S3 on the Verizon network need not wait for a the release of the Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

Speculation last May suggested that the latest Android OS would be available for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note S3 in June. News of the release being delayed arose and June came and went with no update released. Now the update is scheduled to arrive in July.

A recent leak revealing the official software showed improvements from the previous version. This suggests that any issues that have been found with the firmware are being fixed as the release date approaches.

The update to Android will include new Samsung features already on the Galaxy S4 like Smart Pause and Smart Scroll. These two features will be in addition to the new features the Android update will bring. Details of all the operating system’s features can be read about here.

Once Samsung releases the new update, users will have to wait for their cell phone service providers to test the operating system and add their own customized features, which will delay the arrival for some.
