Pokemon X And Y Spotlight: O-Powers Feature To Improve Upon Pass Powers Upon 3DS Release

With Pokemon X and Pokemon Y coming to the 3DS, the "O-Powers" feature has been revealed to provide game bonuses, much like Black and White's Pass Powers.

O-Powers is a new feature to X and Y which give player bonuses for a short amount of time. Here is a list of the O-Powers known so far.

Attack Power: Raises your Pokemon's attack stat during battle.
Capture Power: Increases chances of capturing Pokemon (3 mins.).
Exp. Point Power: Raises the Exp. Points gained in battle (3 mins.).
HP Restoring Power: Raises your Pokemon's hit points during battle.
Prize Money Power: Raises money gained from trainer battle (3 mins.).

It appears that O-Powers require Energy to be activated, but how one obtains Energy is currently unknown.

Despite this being a new feature to X and Y, this is fairly similar to the Pass Powers introduced in Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2.

Pass Powers required the usage of Entralink, and upon completing various missions, Pass Powers or the currency to obtain them are rewarded to the player.

The Powers influenced anything from wild encounter rate, Pokemon happiness, PokeMart discounts, to Hidden Grottos.

As such, it can be assumed that O-Powers will have a similar range of effects, and perhaps more given X and Y's broadened scope.
