Sherlock Season 3 Back Filming Episode 3 [VIDEO], And Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms Season 4 And 5

As "Sherlock" prepares to finish season 3, the cast is confirmed to be back filming the end of this month for episode 3, but Benedict Cumberbatch couldn't help but reveal other good news.

"We've agreed to two more [series] but I could get into trouble for saying that," says Cumberbatch to Radio Times.

That means that "Sherlock" season 4 and 5 should return with Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as the leading characters.

According to "Sherlock" producer Sue Vertue says that both actors are "optioned for the fourth series. We just haven't figured out when we can do it."

"I think as long as everyone wants to keep doing it, we'll keep doing it."

Despite the booming film careers for both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, it seems filming in between their projects is a plausible model for season 4 and beyond, according to IGN.

The filming hiatus between episode 2 and 3, for example, is so Martin can shoot for "The Hobbit" while Cumberbatch does promotions for his film projects like "Star Trek: Into Darkness" and "The Fifth Estate."

"I've started series three. We've done the first two episodes but we're back at the end of July with episode three. It's been so much fun and the scripts have been such a delight and I can't wait for you to see it," says Benedict Cumberbatch during a video greeting for the "Sherlock" San Diego Comic-Con fans.
