Japan Airs 1-Hour Pokemon X And Y Anime Special Featuring Iris And Johto Region: New Battle Competition Announced For America And Europe!

Pokemon X and Y fans have a lot to celebrate, with a new anime special which just aired in Japan and a new battle competition for America and Europe!

On March 27, a special anime episode called "Iris VS Clair! The Road to Dragon Master!" aired in Japan featuring Iris in the Johto region.

In this Pokemon X and Y anime special, Iris arrives at Blackthorn City and challenges Gym Leader Clair, using her shiny Druddigon against Clair's Dragonite. There is also a special appearance of Rayquaza!

This episode also aired before another episode of Ash's adventures in Kalos, titled "Time to Debut! PokeVision with Serena and Fennekin!!"

The anime episode shows Ash and co. learn of PokeVision videos, which promotes the attractiveness of trainers and their Pokemon. Serena decides to begin one herself, but despite Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie's help, things start to go awry!

Be sure to check out these two anime episodes when you have the chance!

Meanwhile, a new Battle Competition has been announced for America and Europe.

According to Serebii, the 2014 April Friendly will held—unsurprisingly—in April. The only rule for this Battle Competition is that the Pokemon must be hatched or caught in Pokemon X and Y.

Meaning, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, and Mewtwo are all eligible!

This is a Single Battle Competition, and registration runs from April 17 to April 24, while the Battle Competition will run from April 25 to April 28.
