Top iOS Apps: Microsoft Finally Brings Office To The iPad, Will Be A 'Freemium' Application

Top iOS apps: After years of waiting, Microsoft has finally made its famous Office apps for the iPad. This comes roughly nine months after the company released Office for the iPhone. It is also the first major move that new CEO Satya Nadella has made as the new company head.

According to the report by GSM Arena, Microsoft has decided to launch Office for the iPad in order to allow users to "do more across all devices" and also "empower people to be productive".

In the report, Office has already been made available and ready to download from the App Store at 2pm ET today.

Unfortunately for users, there is a slight twist.

Office for iOS for the iPad would be a freemium app, which means it would only allow certain functions for the free version. People who want to view their PowerPoint presentations, Word and Excell documents can get the free app. However, they would not be able to edit them unless the user subscribes to Office 360, where he will be required to pay.

So is Office the perfect app for iPad users or should they stay with iWork which comes for free with their device?
