Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On HTC One; New Firmware Released For Bug Fixes And Wifi Improvement; Upgrade Via OTA Now Available In European Countries

Users of HTC One can now install a new and official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

According to GSM Arena, HTC One was first released in the market on March 2013. The device originally runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean but it can now be updated with the latest mobile operating system from Google.

An official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update was previously released for HTC One units. However, the Taiwanese tech manufacturer confirmed that it "suspended the Android 4.4.2 firmware Over-The-Air update temporarily due to the difficulties experienced by a number of user," as posted on International Business Times.

But recently, a second official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update was released via the Over-The-Air upgrade process. According to Android Central, the firmware which comes with build number 4.19.401.11 is now available in some European countries

Moreover, the latest and official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One, which has a file size of 205 MB, brings in important enhancements and bug fixes, which include improvement for Wi-fi, adding support for more routers.

Moroever, the IB Times post also cited the HTC UK software update suggesting that the Android KitKat update is released to unlocked variants of HTC One, as well as those units under Vodafone, O2 and Three.
