The new laptop is expected to arrive this April although there is no exact Samsung Chromebook 2 release date confirmed yet set for US and Canada.

As posted on GigaOM, the Samsung Chromebook 2 release date for US and Canada must be happening soon as it is already due to hit the stores next month. And ahead of the Samsung Chromebook 2 release, Samsung Canada website has recently been updated with images and full specifications of the upcoming laptop. On the other hand, the US site of Samsung is still showing the old model.

With this new product page for Samsung Chromebook 2, it is speculated that the new laptop will be available in the first half of April.

Meanwhile, According to Trusted Reviews, the South Korean tech giant has officially announced Samsung Chromebook 2 release date for UK. Reportedly, the Samsung Chromebook 2 release date in United Kingdom is set for May 2014. Specifically, the 11.6-inch black Samsung Chromebook 2 will be available on May 1, 2014, while the 11.6-inch white Chromebook 2, as well as the 13.3-inch variant will hit the market on May 12.

Moreover, according to a separate post on GigaOM, the Samsung Chromebook 2, powered by the Exynos 5 Octa chip, is expected to render 125 percent more performance compared to previous models. The previous Samsung Chromebook, which became available in 2012, was powered by older Exynos Dual chip.

As for the pricing, the 11.6-inch model will be available for $319.99, while the 13.3-inch model of Samsung Chromebook 2 is priced at $399.99.

The specs for the 11.6-inch version of the Samsung Chromebook 2 include 2 GB RAM and a clockspeed of 1.9GHz. On the other hand, the 13.3-inch variant comes with 4 GB RAM and has a speed of 2.1 GHz. Moreover, as posted on Pocket-Lint:

Both feature 16GB of flash memory and 720p HD embedded webcams, while the 11.6-inch Chromebook 2 has a 1366 x 768 LED display and the 13.3-inch version has a Full HD 1920 x 1080 LED display. Both, naturally, run Google's Chrome operating system.
