AJ McCarron, the former Alabama quarterback proposed to Katherine Webb, the former Miss Alabama USA contestant, in Gulf Shores on Friday.

AJ McCarron Girlfriend Katherine Webb started enjoying the limelight after fixation sparks were caught by ESPN's Brent Musburger whenever the cameras would focus in on Webb during Alabama's dominant win over Notre Dame.

ESPN/ABC commentator Brent Musburger noted what a "beautiful" woman McCarron was dating, joking with his booth partner and former quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, "You quarterbacks get all the good-looking women."

McCarron won two national titles as Alabama's starting quarterback and finished second in the Heisman trophy race in December 2013. McCarron is now in training for the NFL. AJ is projected to be a mid-round pick in May's draft.

McCarron popped the question at Fisher's restaurant in Gulf Shores and Webb told her 307,000-plus Twitter and Intstagram followers. By midnight, it was retweeted more than 7,400 times.

According to Katherine Webb, the engagement ring was designed by AJ McCarron.

McCarron and Webb soon started dating during the 2012 national championship run.
