SyFy Announces Premiere Date for `Sharknado 2: The Second One’; New Sharknado Will Make Landfall in Manhattan

Sharknado Premiere Date: SyFy announced the "Sharknado 2: The Second One" premiere date and it's a mouthful for Manhattan.

The SyFy channel announced that the Sharknado 2: The Second One premiere date will arrive sooner than they first said. Originally scheduled to air on July 31, the sequel to the 2013 social-media hit "Sharknado" is now set to debut a day earlier on Wednesday, July 30 at 9/8 central time.

Syfy Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will reprise their roles, which will see the bizarre 'shark-tornado' freak storm shake up New York. You won't find news about the freak Sharknado storm on The Weather Channel. It is going to be raining sharks on Manhattan "Sharknado 2: The Second One."

The first Sharknado was a huge hit when it took a bite out of the West Coast.  The Sharknado makes landfall in the Big Apple. Luckily, Fin, played by 90210's Ian Ziering, happens to be in the city with April, played by Tara Reid. They saved California, now they're the only people who know how to save New York City.

Set in New York City, Sharknado 2's freak weather system will nibble at some of New York's most beloved landmarks. In the poster for "Sharknado 2: The Next One," the Statue of Liberty is eaten. Yes, once they're in a feeding frenzy, sharks are not too picky about their snacks.

Original Sharknado stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid will be joined by Kelly Osbourne, Mark McGrath, Vivica A. Fox, Andy Dick, 30 Rock alum Judah Friedlander, Perez Hilton, Biz Markie, professional wrestler Kurt Angle, Robert Klein and Sandra Denton, aka Salt-N-Pepa's Pepat. Judd Hirsch will plat on his old role in the TV sitcom "Taxi."
