Pokemon Ruby And Sapphire Remake Rumors: Will Hoenn Be Confirmed September 2015 For 10-Year Anniversary Before X And Y 3DS DLC?

Although 2014 is just beginning, Pokemon fans are already predicting what 2015 will bring, and the latest rumors seem to allude to a Ruby and Sapphire remake.

As fans remember, the 10-year anniversary of Gold and Silver brought about the remake that became Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and the 10th anniversary for Ruby and Sapphire will arrive September 2015.

Some Pokemon enthusiasts believe that much like HeartGold and SoulSilver, a Hoenn remake will be confirmed in 2015 just in time for the anniversary.

"People should really look forward to Hoenn happening in 2015, whether it gets confirmed this year or not. Simply because it's the 10th anniversary of Emerald next year, and the 20th anniversary of Pokemon in general, so they will want to celebrate next year BIG," writes HeavyMetalLamb on Pokejungle.

Of course, HeartGold and SoulSilver were made to resolve a backward compatibility issue from Gameboy Color to the DS, but could Nintendo be gearing up for a Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald remake?

Plenty of Easter Eggs within X and Y seem to hint at a Hoenn remake, but some fans are less than enthusiastic about a Ruby and Sapphire re-release for the 3DS.

"Stop this annualization of the franchise. Five games in the mainline series have been released in the past five years in the US. Annualization is what is killing [Call of Duty], it is what made Battlefield 4 such a hot mess and it might make the consumer grow tired of Assassins Creed too," writes Daedardus.

Still, before a Ruby and Sapphire remake even happens, it's also possible that a Pokemon X and Y DLC could be released, given that new Pokemon like Diancie will inevitably be added to the Kalos Pokedex/

Do you think Hoenn will be confirmed in 2015?
