Google Maps Pokemon Challenge: Internet Search Giant Looking For A ‘Pokemon Master’ In Their April Fool’s Game[VIDEO]; Gmail Selfies, Celebrity Photobombs And Other Pranks Available

You "gotta catch them all' as the Google Maps Pokemon challenge is on.

The internet search giant kicked off the April Fool's Day with the Google Maps Pokemon challenge. According to Times of India, the company revealed via a video that they are looking for a Pokemon Master - a new job position available in the Google Maps team.

The voiceover in the video says, "At Google we seek to hire the most exceptional people. Today we are announcing a new job role and challenge - Pokemon Master. Pokemon Master's are world's greatest digital explorers."

The deadline for the search for the "Pokemon Master" of the Google Maps Pokemon Challenge is on April 2, 2014 2:00 PDT.

To join the Google Maps Pokemon Challenge, Android and iPhone users first need to updated their Maps app. The 150 Pokemons are scattered on the Google Maps. To begin the Google Maps Pokemon Challenge, launch the Maps app and tap the Search field, which is located at the top of the screen, according to International Business Times. On the screen, Google Maps users will find a new option "Press Start" alongside a Poke Ball symbol. Press it to begin the exciting Google Maps Pokemon challenge and make sure to find all the 150 Pokemons scattered on the map.

To catch the Pokemons on the Google Maps app, players will need to zoom into the maps of different cities. Once you discovered a Pokemon, just press the "Catch" button and it will automatically be stored on Pokedex.

Aside from the Google Maps Pokemon Challenge, the search giant also released other pranks for the April Fool's Day. For instance, the Gmail Team revealed that selfies can now be set as your background theme in your Gmail account. Read more about it here.
