Install Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On Samsung Galaxy S3: Custom ROM ‘crDROID’ Available For GT-I9300

Samsung Galaxy S3 users can now install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update using a custom ROM.

There is a planned firmware upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S3, according to GSM Arena. Currently, the latest and official firmware available for the 2012 flagship device is the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. While waiting for the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, Samsung Galaxy S3 users can opt to use the custom ROM.

As posted on International Business Times, owners of the international version of Samsung Galaxy S3 can now install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update as the custom ROM "crDroid" is now available for the smartphone. Reportedly, the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat CrDroid ROM is based on the latest version of CyanogenMod11 (CM11).

Particularly, the crDroid ROM based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy S3 bearing the model number GT-I9300.

For the features of the crDroid custom ROM based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, the post noted that the firmware brings in the tweak the status bar's transparency and manage brightness through the status bar.
