The Blue Jackets lead ninth-place Toronto by one point but moved within two of the Flyers for third in the Metropolitan Division. If they finish in the top three of the division, they would play the second place team, which is currently the Rangers. If they don't and finish in a wild card spot, they'd play either the top-seeded Bruins or division-leading Penguins.

"We're in a good position," forward Brandon Dubinsky, who scored his 16th of the season, told ESPN.com. "It's not like where we were last year when we had to continue to watch and hope and chase teams. We're right where we want to be."

Last night's victory was the first ever win for Columbus in Philly. The Blue Jackets were 0-5 with a tie at Wells Fargo Center coming in, while former goaltender Sergai Bobrovsky stopped all 37 shots by from his former team.

"It's great for Bob," coach Todd Richards told NHL.com. "You want to see good players and good guys do well, and Bob is that guy. It's never about him ... it's all about the team. You can ask any of the players; everybody in that room is really happy for him."

Without Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and others, the Blackhawks found a way to get the victory. It wasn't the quick-scoring offense Chicago fans were used to, but it worked.

"I thought we played the way we had to play. Playing it simple, advancing the puck, check-first mentality and five-man units all over the ice," coach Joel Quenneville said. "I thought we didn't give up much all game. ... Tough one to give up at the end, but I like the way [Crawford] battled back in the shootout. It was fun to get two points in an overtime game, which was something we haven't seen in a long time."
