Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: Butterfly S Successor In The Works, Appears On Benchmark, Specs List Reveals Conventional 13MP Shooter, Quad-Core CPU, Snapdragon 801, 2GB RAM

Upcoming HTC phones 2014: For those who had the HTC Butterfly in 2012 and have been waiting for a refresh last year, you may have been delighted by the Butterfly S which launched in June.

Fortunately, it looks like the Taiwanese manufacturer may still bring a new version of the Butterfly S smartphone in the coming months.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the purported handset has recently made an appearance at AnTuTu's benchmarking app, which was able to extract a number of important features and specs. 

From the spec list, the alleged Butterfly S successor will boast a Full HD (1920 x 1080) of unknown screen size, most probably in the 5-inch category, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, and 16GB of internal memory.

Interestingly, the handset packs the usual 13MP primary camera, and not the UltraPixel variant. And even if it won't come up dual cameras at the back, that would be fine as long as the 13MP sensor stands. There is also the same 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. 

The rumored HTC device may also run with Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, Sense 6.0 UI and the software's several features. This includes HTC Zoe, BlinkFeed, and hopefully BoomSound speakers. 

Unfortunately, that is all we know about the HTC Butterfly S successor as of now. Given that the previous generation model was announced in June, this one may also see a June announcement with a possible release date by July. Similar to last year's version, this Butterfly S can also come in varying gorgeous color options. 

However, a closer release is also possible, considering HTC's toughest competitor Samsung has been releasing smartphones of varying specs and price ranges left and right.
