New Android Phones 2014: Indian Phone Maker Unveils Affordable Midrange Smartphone, Xolo Q1010i Specs Include 5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, 1GB RAM, 8MP Sony-Made Shooter

New Android phones 2014: With just over three months into the year and we have already seen dozens of new smartphones, particularly in the Android platform category. But in case you are looking for something that provides decent specs and features, but does not hurt much on the finances, then you may want to check out this one.

Indian phone manufacturer Xolo has been releasing quality handsets at affordable prices for a while now, and it's fresh midranger is no different.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the company has just unveiled its Q1010i smartphone. The company may not win any best name awards for the Android-powered handset, but it sure has done a great job squeezing into it decent specs for its price tag.

In the report, the Xolo Q1010i is said to pack a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a quad-core CPU running at 1.3GHz, MediaTek MT6582 chipset, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Other notable specs include a microSD card slot for storage expansion, the usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. We sure hope it may be able to provide an update for Kitkat to make the deal sweeter. There is also a decent 2,250mAh battery that can easily get you through the day.

However, what Xolo is focusing now for promoting the Q1010i is its 8MP camera. It may not be ground-breaking, but for a midrange device to get Sony's famous Exmor R sensor, that is something.

The lens has a f/2.0 aperture, a 1.4 micron pixel size, as well as a 5-element lens.

In the report, the Xolo Q1010i will hit Indian stores by the end of the month, and should cost INR13,999, or about $225.
