Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Specs Detailed In New Leak Points To 4.8" Display, Hexa-Core Chip, Overall Specs Inferior To Samsung Flagship Except 20.2MP Primary Shooter

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom: Samsung is known for releasing a flurry of handsets and several versions of its previous smartphones, and flagship devices are not an exception. It has done it with the Galaxy S3, S4 and now the S5.

And even if it was only more than a month since the Galaxy S5 was launched, the Korean tech giant has already been working on several variations including the Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 mini, and the Galaxy S5 Zoom.

As for the latter, we have been hearing a number of speculations and rumors about the said device, one of which point to a model name K-Zoom, which is kind of un-characteristically of Samsung to get. Still, we will give those rumors the benefit of the doubt.

In a new report by BGR, leaker of everything Samsung, SamMobile has recently posted a short list of specs for the camera-centric device.

The Galaxy S5 Zoom is said to sport a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, a hexa-core Samsung Eynos 5 chipset for superior performance, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

If you consider all those specs, the Galaxy S5 Zoom can be considered a 'smaller' flagship spec-wise. However, it goes above the Samsung flagship in one category - camera.

In the report, the upcoming Android device is said to pack a 20.2MP camera that is far more superior than the current flagship's 16MP snapper. Unlike last year's model, the new Galaxy S5 Zoom will not have a bulky lens at the back. In previous reports, the lens would be flat on the phone's back surface, unless in use which will make the phone thinner.

While we still do not know what this camera can do, we're pretty sure it would be DSLR-like quality.
