The 30-year-old Chris Colabello made his major league debut last May and he's been one of baseball's biggest surprises early on. He's batting .391, has hit safely in every game and leads the AL in RBIs with 11 after driving home four in Sunday's 10-7 win, according to ESPN.com. Monday will be his first every home opener with a team in MLB.

"It's awesome," Colabello said of his fast start, which has helped Minnesota average 6.3 runs. "Every day I get to spend in the big leagues is awesome, regardless of how many hits I get or production. Obviously, it's nice to help the team and contribute. It's been exciting. It's fun to wake up every morning and do my job."

To stop the offense of the Twins that is near the top of the league, the A's will send left-hander Scott Kazmir (1-0, 0.00) while the Twins will send out right-hander Kevin Correia (0-0, 3.00 ERA).

"Seems like we've been gone a long, long time. It will be refreshing to get home, get in front of our fans, in our ballpark. That's going to be kind of cool," Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire told ESPN.com.
