Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Rumored Xperia G Appears In Leaked Document, Specs Include 4.8" 720p Display, Snapdragon 400, 8MP Shooter

Upcoming Sony phones 2014: Sony has been doing a great job in the flagship and higher midrange category recently, and it certainly leads to more profit for the Japan-based company.

In a new report, it appears that Sony Mobile is planning to launch an entry-level handset in Indonesia.

According to a recent report from GSM Arena, a leaked document from the country's POSTEL, which serves as its FCC counterpart, lists a Sony handset that comes by the name of Xperia G.

In the listing, the handset would be strictly an entry-level handset, though some may insist that it is a lower midrange phone. The smartphone is also manufactured in China, like most of Sony's recent devices.

In the POSTEL document, the Xperia G has a model name Sony D5103 and has already appeared in several live shots in the wild. In fact, it has already graced GFXBenchmark earlier this year. So what makes this Sony handset something worth buying for Android fans?

Tipped as a Moto G rival, the Sony Xperia G could boast specs which include a 4.8-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a Snapdragon 400 chip, Adreno 305, Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, and an 8-megapixel camera.

While we don't expect the rumored handset to get IP certification, it should come with a microSD card slot to give it the upper hand compared to the Moto G.

Sony has recently been upping its game when it comes to releases, and while the pricing and design can still be worked on, it is considered by many as one of the four (or five) premier Android smartphone OEMs today.

Unfortunately, that is all we know about this Sony handset. We will make sure to keep you posted once this Android phone launches in Indonesia, and possibly other parts of Asia.
