Samsung Galaxy S5: Flagship's Twin Brother Is Faster With Its 8 Cores, Specs Include 5.1" Super AMOLED Display, Exynos 5 Octa, 16MP Shooter

Samsung Galaxy S5: The Samsung Galaxy S5 is undoubtedly one of the best Android phones in the market today. And while the flagship device only had minor improvements as far as hardware specs are concerned, the company more than made up for it with tons of extra features and functions. 

When the Galaxy S5 was tested in AnTuTu's benchmarking app, it got away with an impressive score of more than 36,000. 

However, we did not expect it to be dethroned at such a time in its early existence in the smartphone competition. And the culprit? Another Samsung Galaxy S5, this time it's the Exynos 5 Octa version. 

According to a report by GSM Arena, the octa-core edition of Samsung's flagship device scored better than its quad-core counterpart, and notched more than 38,000 in the same AnTuTu benchmark. 

As you can see, the Galaxy S5 Exynos 5 Octa is certainly a beast in processing and multi-tasking, and it has even beaten its older sibling's previous scores in those departments. 

Aside from the chipset, the Exynos 5 Octa version of Samsung's flagship device boasts similar specs such as the 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, and a 16MP OIS-powered camera. 

There is also a microSD card slot that is capable of holding up to 128GB of expanded storage.

Other notable features include a fingerprint scanner that is PayPal certified, a heart rate monitor, water and dust resistance, and even a baby monitor. 

The octa-core version of Samsung's flagship is set to be available in India, China and most of Asia. 

Meanwhile, other Samsung Galaxy S5 versions which are expected to arrive in the coming weeks or months include the Galaxy S5 mini, Galaxy S5 Zoom (K Zoom), and the Galaxy S5 Active.
