‘The Amazing Spider Man 2’: Sinister Six Candidates Teased In The Sequel! Which Ones Will Make It To The Final Roster?

"The Amazing Spider Man 2" was riddled with easter eggs and allusions on the future (as they intended the sequel to be). The reviews find the clues either exciting or distracting, but it is what it is.

One of Sony's daring announcements was the Sinister Six movie. It is probably the first time a super-villain group will have their own full length feature. Thus, the roster of the Sinister Six is of utmost importance.

It was already teased that the line-up will not entirely follow the comic book cast. Also, most of Spider Man's rogue's gallery has already been a part of the Sinister Six at one time or another. Therefore, everything is up for grabs.

What Culture found two Easter eggs and connected them to the possible villain that could appear in "TASM 3" and eventually the Sinister Six movie.

For Kraven the Hunter: "First there's the golden-toothed sabre-tooth tiger skull that appears in the board-room of Oscorp, which definitely feels like a reference to Lord Of The Savage Land Ka-Zar, the primitive hero who once battled Spider-Man, and who battled Kraven memorably, and whose narrative revealed how Kraven came to be a Hunter. Notably, Ka-Zar has a sabre-toothed side-kick in the shape of Zabu.

And secondly, Norman Osborn's secret Oscorp files include one called the Australia Project - perhaps a reference to the fact that Kraven was rebranded as an Australian (rather than Russian) in the Ultimate Marvel universe."

A more complicated one for Doctor Octopus:

"The most intriguing hint in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the genesis of Doctor Octopus, who will definitely become one of the Sinister Six, as confirmed by the presence of his octo-arms in the secret basement at Oscorp.

Dr Kafka, the formerly female (in the comics) founder of the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, who is played in the movie by Marton Csokas of Lord Of The Rings fame.

But if his gender wasn't enough of a hint that this wasn't the normal depiction of Kafka, his visual introduction hinted at something even more revelatory. The camera lingers slightly on a shot of Kafka's eyes seen through colour-tinted circular glasses, a hallmark of Doc Ock - and though his arc in the sequel leaves questions over how he could become Ock, it seems like too much of a hint (especially with the heavy Bavarian accent) to ignore."

We have seen Doctor Octopus as a major villain in the Spider Man trilogy. It is a challenge for Sony to make this new incarnation better than before.

"The Amazing Spider Man 2" will be released on May 2 in the US.
