Huawei Ascend P7 Mini Release Date, Specs: New Android-Powered Midranger Goes Official, Packs 4.5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, Snapdragon 400, 1GB RAM, 8MP Shooter

Huawei Ascend P7 Mini release date, specs: A couple of weeks before tha Ascend P7 makes its debut, its smaller sibling has already been unveiled by the Chinese manufacturer.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Huawei Ascend P7 mini has just been announced by the company, though it would not be available until the official launch of the higher-end smartphone.

In the report, the Ascend P7 mini would be a great option for first-time Android users, and even switchers from other platforms.

With a display of 4.5 inches, it is already more than enough screen real estate for videos, gaming and other entertainment-focused tasks.

So what would the Ascend P7 mini bring to the table that would be a good match against other brands in the same specification and price range?

In the report, the Huawei Ascend P7 mini packs a 4.5-inch display with qHD or 960 x 540 resolution, more than enough for casual users. It also runs on a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM, Adreno 305 for discrete performance in graphics-intensive tasks, and 8GB of internal memory.

Also on board is a microSD card slot for memory expansion, an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 5 front facing shooter, LTE connectivity, and a 2,000mAh battery.

The Huawei Ascend P7 mini runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, which may not be appealing to some Android fans. Hopefully, the company would be able to at least upgrade it to Kitkat soon.

The upcoming Android handset is expected to be priced at €250-300, which is pretty steep considering its specs. It will launch alongside the Ascend P7 which is powered by a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, on May 7.
