‘Deadpool’ Movie Teased By Ryan Reynolds! Reboot Will Be Darker And R-Rated! 'Mercenary With A Mouth' The New Wolverine?

Ryan Reynolds appeared as Deadpool, a Marvel character with a strong cult following. While his previous appearance on "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" flopped (along with the entire movie), an R-Rated Reboot may bring back the swagger.

Most comic fans criticized the choice of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, but apparently, he is still involved with the project. He discusses with Total Film:

"That movie is alive and kicking, and then it's dead as a doornail. Then it's alive and kicking and then it's dead...it's like the worse (sic) relationship I've ever had," Everybody has a different idea as to how you're supposed to do it, and for me, it's been tough because it comes and goes like the tide...I never know where it is." 

"It's risky for everybody involved. It's not as commercial as they would like it to be. It's a property that is excessively popular and successful, just as a comic property. So you certainly don't want to mess that up. And if you're a studio you certainly don't want to put something out there that you can't get back." 

Writer-Producer Simon Kinberg spoke to Collider at WonderCon. The question on Deadpool was brought up: "Yeah, it makes sense to me.  Genuinely it's early phases, early days, but if you're gonna do a Deadpool movie, I think you've gotta do a hard-R, darker movie and he is the perfect character to do it with."

The fact that Warner Bros. has entrusted practically their entire DC universe to Zack Snyder whose main claim to fame is the R-Rated "300" means there is an audience for the more graphic, darker and edgier super hero movies. Not all of the moviegoers admired the sitcom like Avengers.

It has recently been speculated that the Wolverine franchise, at least with Hugh Jackman, might end sooner than later with the emergence of the "Death Of Wolverine" comic arc. Deadpool could be a worthy character to develop.

A recent poll by EW.com on which X-Men Spinoff the readers would like to see had Deadpool on top, beating Mystique, Magneto and Gambit.
