Official DriveClub Release Date Announced! PS4 Racing Game Arriving On October 7 In North America [TRAILER]; New Director A Veteran Developer From Evolution Studios

The official DriveClub release date has finally been revealed!

The PS4 exclusive racing game, DriveClub will be available on October 7 in North America. Moreover, DriveClub for PS4 release date accross Europe is set on October 8 while the game will be available in United Kingdom starting October 11, according to a post on VG247.

The DriveClub release date was also revealed at the end of latest trailer released for the upcoming racer game. Watch the DriveClub PS4 trailer below:

DriveClub for PS4 also gets a new director - Pau Rustchynksy, who is a veteran developer from Evolution Studios. Shuhei Yoshida, the PlayStation president of Worldwide Studios stated:

"We planned for the game to be ready for early 2014 and are committed to delivering on our ambitious promise of creating a truly innovative, socially connected racing game. The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What Driveclub offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for.

In addition to the new date, we are also very pleased to announce that as of February 2014, Paul Rustchynsky--better known as Rushy--has been at the helm of Driveclub as Game Director. We appreciate the announcement has come a little late, however we wanted to inform his appointment along with the new date announcement."

Accordingly, Rustchynsky is previously the Game Director for MotorStorm RC and he has also "been an integral contributor to all major titles coming out of Evolution Studios since 2004."

Moreover, sharing updates about the development of the PS4 DriveClub, Paul Rustchynsky shared to Dave Cook of VG247 via phone:

"In terms of what we've been doing in the past six to nine months is we've been focusing primarily on our dynamic menu, which is our social hub for the game.

It's a way that allows you to connect seamlessly and slickly to other players, so it's about forming clubs with no barriers, it's about being able to send challenges and let them go viral, it's about being able to connect to other players - whether it's on PlayStation 4 or on your iOS or Android app."
