Watch Dogs Wii U Release Date News: Ubisoft Romania Now ‘Fully Focused’ On The Nintendo Console Version; Game Delayed To Enhance Hacking System

The release date for the Wii U version of Watch Dogs has not been revealed yet but the development team is now focused on porting the game to the Nintendo console.

Watch Dogs Wii U is being ported at Ubisoft Romania and  game's creative director, Jonathan Morin, said that the dev team has now shifted its concentration on Watch Dogs Wii U, especially now that the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One  versions of the game are about to arrive this Month.

As cited on GameSpot, Jonathan Morin told Red Bull:

"Right now [the Wii U version is] currently being done, but I'm not directly involved. We wanted to finish all the platforms that we are currently shipping. We needed those guys to get [the shipping versions] finished, and the good news now is that they're all fully focused on the Wii U version, making sure it gets the attention it deserves to make it the best version it can be."

Moreover, according to Computer And Video Games, citing Morin, the reason for the delay of Watch Dogs Wii U release date was to improve the hacking system. According to the post, "Some playtesters of the then-complete version would "go really deep into the manipulation and get really creative about things", creating unforeseen situations and issues."

The director further shared, "We decided to step back a bit and take the time to define how we could perform very surgical and precise ways to fix the problems," Morin said. "That's why we didn't have a new date immediately after the delay."

Watch Dogs will be available on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 36 on May 27. The Watch Dogs Wii U release date has not been announced yet but it is expected to arrive at some point later this year.

Watch Dogs is also getting a Season Pass with downloadable content. However, the DLC Season Pass has not been confirmed yet for Watch Dogs Wii U version.
