Jennifer Esposito To Star In New Series 'Taxi Brooklyn' With Chyler Leigh; Newly Engaged Jennifer Esposito Plays a Cop …. Again

Jennifer Esposito is playing a cop ... again. It was announced that Chyler Leigh and Jennifer Esposito have both been cast to star in the upcoming series "Taxi Brooklyn."

Chyler Leigh will headline headlining the summer series on NBC that premieres on June 25. In the new action/comedy series "Taxi Brooklyn," Leigh plays Cat Sullivan, a tough New York detective who teams with a taxi cab driver,  played by Jacky Ido, to solve crimes.

One of the cases involves a mystery surrounding her Cat Sullivan's father's death. Cat gets help from her friend and colleague Monica, played by Jennifer Esposito, from "Blue Bloods."

Executive producer Gary Scott Thompson says "We find them standing over a few dead bodies throughout this series. They're sarcastic toward each other, but they have a past. And something happens that tests their relationship at the end of the season."

Jennifer Esposito is a 41-year-old actress from Brooklyn, N.Y. She is a veteran of police roles. Esposito most recently played a cop on TV in "Blue Bloods."  But she's been in blue in the films "Taxi," "Bending the Rules" and the deeply disturbing, but critically acclaimed film "Crash." She also played a law enforcement officer on the long-running NBC crime series "Law & Order."

Jennifer Esposito recently got engaged to her long-time boyfriend, the model Louis Dowler. Esposito confirmed the big news on Thursday, May 1, when she was on the talk show "Katie." The show opened with host Katie Couric announcing, "Jennifer just got engaged."

Jennifer Esposito and Louis Dowler have been dating since 2012. Dowler  recently popped the question.
