iPad 5 News, Update: MS Office For Apple’s Flagship Tablet A Must Have For Users; App Packed W/ Tools & ‘Elegantly Optimized’ For iOS Slab

iPad 5 news, update: Microsoft Office for iPad is here and the new suite of apps released by the Redmond tech giant is receiving great reviews for its functions and features. According to one reviewer, the app features elegantly optimized interface and are packed with tools for the iPad user.

In a recent update, the Microsoft Office for iPad just gained printing capabilities as well.

“Your top request is here! You can now print Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to an AirPrintTM printer. In Word for iPad, you can choose to print a document with or without markup. In Excel, print a selected range, a single worksheet or an entire spreadsheet. Of course, you can select the pages or slides you want to print,” reads an official blog post.

The set of apps that were released last March is described by CNET as a great middle ground for desktop and smartphone versions of the app. The tech site noted that Microsoft Office for iPad is packed with tools and elegantly optimized for the touchscreen, saying, “it belongs to the iPads of Officer users.”

Microsoft made separate apps for the Office suite instead of following a one-app-gives-all set-up for the iPhone. By doing so there are far more features in each app. The bigger screen of the iPad gives more room to work with and the company took advantage of the setting with better tools, more templates and touch-focused controls that are intuitive, familiar and works great on-the-go.

CNET warns, however, that before the user downloads any of these apps, it must be noted that the free version of the Microsoft Office gives limited features. All the three apps allows the user to connect to OneDrive to browse the files and read Word, Power Point and Excel documents for free.

In order to get the full benefits of the app, which includes the ability to create and edit documents, the user will need a subscription with Office 365. An Office 365 subscription costs $9.99/month or $99.99/year for a Home Premium package and allows access from multiple computers and mobile devices.
