Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Pantech Gearing For The Ultimate Flagship Killer Smartphone, Rumored Specs Incl. 2K Display, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 Chip

Upcoming Android phones 2014: For the past couple of years, Pantech has been secretly chipping away most of the loyal Samsung fans in their home country - Korea. That is because the manufacturer has been releasing Galaxy killer after Galaxy killer, interestingly weeks or a few months after the latest Samsung high-end phone is announced.

Last year, after Samsung released the Galaxy Note 3, Pantech soon announced its Pantech Vega superphone which did not only mirror the Note 3's specs, but even surpassed it.

So we are very pleased to inform our Korean audience that Pantech will once again test Samsung's domination in its home market with its rumored high-end phablet.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android powered smartphone will sport much better specs than its already capable predecessor.

Dubbed as the Pantech IM-A888S, the upcoming phablet has recently appeared in AnTuTu's benchmarking app where it listed its supposed specs. The handset packs a QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) display, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, version 805 and Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

In addition, the device will get a whopping 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built in memory, possibly with an option for microSD storage expansion.

While we still cannot confirm the camera specifications of the device, we strongly believe that it would be an improvement to last year's model that packs a 13MP rear camera.

Pantech is certainly one of the best smartphone manufacturers on the planet. However, it only serves its home country at the moment. That means the Pantech Vega IM-A888S would not make it to the international market.

So while Samsung will certainly get its hands full in its home country, at least it would still get the upperhand on the rest of the world.
