Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Super Thin iPhone-Look-a-like Vivo X3S Hits Malaysia, Specs Incl. 5" 720p Display, Octa-Core CPU, 13MP Shooter

Upcoming Android phones 2014: If you want to buy an iPhone but you cannot simply afford it because of its premium price tag, then you may want to settle for something that is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper.

In a recent report by GSM Arena, mobile phone maker has launched its newest high-end device and it is now available in Malaysia.

Dubbed as the Vivo X3S, the Android powered handset packs a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, an octa-core MediaTek chipset running at 1.7GHz, and 1GB of RAM.

Other specs include a 13MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a slightly disappointing 2,000mAh battery and only Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Measuring only 5.95mm thin, the Vivo X3S is certainly looks stunning and sleek, and is sight to behold. The iPhone-like design also helps the device get a premium-look in spite using less expensive materials for the smartphone's frame.

Interestingly, Vivo even used icons and a launcher that would resemble iOS' ecosystem. While it is definitely not the exact Apple mobile operating system, at least it resembles it.

In the report, the Vivo X3S can now be bought in Malaysian stores for RM 1,399 or about $428. That is pretty steep for a device that has limited specs and midrange features.

Chinese brands may be popular in their home country, but once they get out of their country's market, mobile manufacturers should be able to make the necessary price adjustments to still make them a hit even in foreign lands.

In comparison, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship, the Mi-3S is expected to be arrive in other markets as well. But with powerhouse specs (Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM, 1080p display), the device is rumored to cost only a little above $300.
