The Good Wife Season 5 Finale Spoilers And Elsbeth Tascioni Spin-Off Rumors!

As "The Good Wife" season 5 heads toward the season finale, spoilers of the final episode and a potential spin-off have surfaced.

According to spoilers by TVLine, "The Good Wife" season finale will end on a cliffhanger of sorts.

“It’s not a cliffhanger in that, ‘Oh, which way is Alicia going to choose?" says executive producer Robert King. “It’s more a cliffhanger in that, ‘Oh, NOW what does that mean? That’s an interesting decision.’ It’s a cliffhanger of a new chapter opening in Alicia’s life.”

Thanks to IB Times, we now have "The Good Wife" season 5 finale episode synopsis.

"An open feed from a camera mistakenly left on after a teleconferenced deposition between the lawyers of Florrick/Agos and Lockhart/Gardner reveals a threat to the firm that Alicia and Cary never saw coming. Meanwhile, the fate of Lockhart/Gardner hangs in the balance as Louis Canning views for a larger role. Also, Alicia entrusts Zach’s high school graduation party to Jackie and Veronica, on the fifth season finale of ‘The Good Wife.'"

From these spoilers, it seems the finale will feature a lot of guest stars before the season is out.

One name we are sad to see is missing is Elsbeth Tascioni, the popular and quirky character portrayed by Carrie Preston.

Fans of "The Good Wife" have been wanting the character to be a series regular for a long time, but according to spoilers by E! Online, CBS may do you one better.

"We've discussed it internally," said co-creator Robert King. "It always comes down to where you can put your energy. Our worry is that—we're not the kind of showrunners, unfortunately, who can take our eyes off this and do two things at once. I wish we could because there's no one more fun to work with and better comedian than Carrie Preston. There's such a cool show there."

And now that Carrie Preston is nearing the end of her tenure on "True Blood," it seems the actress is game for a spin-off should there be one.

"A spinoff could really work in that kind of 'Monk' way, a drama but has a lot of levity to it and, you know, it's the case of the week and how is this woman going to use all of her mind tricks to make it happen in surprising and entertaining ways?"
