Sword Art Online Season 2 To Receive Worldwide Release Date In July Alongside Sailor Moon Crystal: Luna Haruna To Sing Ending Theme Song For 'Gun Gale Online' Anime

"Sword Art Online" fans have some exciting updates regarding season 2, which will have a worldwide simulcast similar to "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal."

According to Anime News Network, "Sword Art Online" season 2 will have a worldwide release date in July, with premiere screening events hosted by Aniplex to be held in the U.S., France, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan.

Details regarding the streaming schedules as well as platforms have yet to be revealed, but fans are already wondering whether it will be simulcast through the same platform as the "Sailor Moon" reboot, Nico Nico Douga.

Only time will tell whether the release date will overlap with that of "Sailor Moon," which could make the month competitive for anime fans.

Reportedly, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will reprise his role as the protagonist Kirito in "Sword Art Online" season 2, which will focus on a new MMORPG called "Gun Gale Online." Miyuki Sawashiro will join the anime series as Sinon after voicing the character on Sword Art Online: Inifinity Moment for the PSP.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Luna Haruna will sing the ending theme to "Sword Art Online" season 2.

The Japanese singer has contributed to the series before, singing the theme song "Overfly" for the anime.
