Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Blu Unveils Life Pure XL Handset That Boasts Galaxy S5-Like Specs, Costs Only $399

Upcoming Android phones 2014: Phone manufacturer Blu may not be among the most popular brands when it comes to smartphones, but it is dedicated to deliver quality and affordable handsets to its consumers.

And now, we see another great deal coming from the Florida-based company.

In a recent report by Android Police, Blu has just unveiled its current flagship device, the Life Pure XL. As the successor of the Life Pure handset, it boasts improved specs and features. In fact it has improved so much that it can even rival current flagship devices from well known manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung, HTC and LG.

The Life Pure XL is officially a phablet, with its 5.5-inch display. Its screen packs Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and with Cornis Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood lies a slightly outdated but still lightning fast Snapdragon 800 chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.2GHz, and Adreno 330 GPU for top notch graphics performance.

There are also two versions of the device, one which has a 3GB RAM/32GB built memory combo, while the other gets a fairly decent 2GB/16GB version. However, considering that the price difference between the two devices is only $50, most purchasers would get the higher end model.

Other specs of the device include a 16MP primary camera at the back that is capable of 1080p recording, and a whopping 8MP front camera. Those camera specs are pretty impressive, and if handled well, can even outdo the cameras of current flagships today.

Unfortunately, support for LTE is not available, but you do get other connectivity functions such as Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.

The Blue Life Pure XL runs on a 2,500mAh battery, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, though the report said it would be upgradeable to Kitkat soon.

The higher end model (3/32) of the device costs only $399 while the lower end version (2/16) retails at $349. So, is the Blu Life Pure XL an attractive deal, or  what?
