Samsung Galaxy K Zoom Release Date: Camera-Centric Android Smartphone With 20.7MP Shooter Hitting EU In Mid-May, Costs €519 In Germany

Samsung Galaxy K Zoom release date: Launched several days ago, the Galaxy K Zoom from Samsung is reportedly arriving in the EU by mid-May.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the camera-centric smartphone will cost €519 in Germany. We still do not know whether that would also be the case for other markets in the EU, but we assume it would be in that range.

So is the K Zoom worth your hard-earned cash?

The Galaxy K Zoom is actually the successor of the Galaxy S4 Zoom which launched last year. And while it does not veer away from most of the previous generation's build and design, we can see some notable changes.

One of the more apparent changes is the camera lens, which is now concealed in the phone's body when not in use. That means when not in use, the Galaxy K Zoom looks just like any Android phone with its relatively slim build.

On the specs side, there are some which the Galaxy K Zoom retained such as the 4.8-inch 720p display, hexa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. There is also a microSD card slot that can support up to 64GB of expanded storage, as well as Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

However, the highlight of the device is its 20.7MP shooter that is capable of 10x optical zoom. Also on board the camera department is an improved OIS (optical image stabilization) that may even function better than the original flagship (Galaxy S5).

The K Zoom is expected to make its worldwide debut later this month, and so if you live in Germany and EU you better prepare your budget if you want to get this cameraphone from Samsung.
