"The Blacklist" season 2 cast James Spader revealed season 2 spoilers when he revealed that playing Red is the hardest in his career. Meanwhile, Paul Reubens, more famously known for playing Pee-Wee, will join the cast as a villain.

"The Blacklist" season 2 cast James Spader talked with Zap2it and said that playing on television is very different compared to filming for movies.

"This has been one of the hardest years in my career -- and it's been wonderful. A television show is your life. It swallows you whole and chews you up but refuses to spit you out," he said. "I work very hard on the show, and I'm lucky because it's a wonderful character who's great fun to play."

But "The Blacklist" season 2 cast James Spader revealed that he wallows in the challenge of playing a character very different from his own personality.

"I liked being hired to play somebody who was so different from me. If you're not actually a bad guy, just the fact that you're comfortable with certain things -- such as, say, sexuality -- means you can tap into things that others can't," he added.

Showrunner Jon Bokenkamp teased "The Blacklist" season 2 spoilers to the EW when he said that fans will expect a very different Paul Reubens from his Pee-Wee character.

"We're forgoing the bow tie and the bicycle, and it's going to be something totally different, and it's gonna be awesome. It can't get strange enough for me. One of the most fun things is being able to write for actors who I've admired and think are interesting and try to play against expectations. I think this will be a fun one. I'd say he's gonna shake things up a bit when he enters Red's orbit," he said in his "Blacklist" season 2 spoilers.
