Chris Soules The New Bachelor? Did Former Runner-Up Arie Luyendyk Jr. Purposely Reveal ABC Dating Show’s New Frontman?

Has the mystery of the next Bachelor finally been solved? It appears that former runner-up Arie Luyendyk, 32, may have just spilled the beans and exposed the next star of the show to be none other than Chris Soules.

But was Luyendyk's leak an accident or an act of revenge?

"I'm not the Bachelor," Luyendyk tweeted. "Have fun on the farm people."

"It wasn't meant to be, and I'm okay with it," Luyendyk tweeted on Tuesday (Aug. 26). "Happy I can move forward."

The racecar driver who nearly went the distance on Emily Maynard's season of "The Bachelorette" has been rumored to be in contention for the coveted Bachelor role.

Another big name in the race has been this past season's Chris Soules, who placed third after Bachelorette Andi Dorfman sent him home instead of inviting him to join her in the buzzed-about "Fantasy Suite."

32-year-old Soules, a farmer from Iowa, stole many fans hearts throughout this season, even making an admirer of "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" alum Emily.

In Maynard's blog for Parade.com, the southern fasionista wrote, "every girl in America will be signing up to be on the next season of The Bachelor in hopes of meeting Chris!"

It seems Maynard's predictions may not have been too far off. Fans of the show are speculating that Luyendyk's "farm" comment could be a reference to Soules.

"You know, I live in Arlington, Iowa, and that's why going on [The Bachelorette] made sense," Soules told The Des Moines Register.

"It was a good opportunity for a guy like me," he continued. "And it's an even better opportunity to be on the other side, where you have the opportunity to meet 25 incredible women. So yeah, I would definitely consider it."

So, did Arie intentionally tell the world Chris was the next Bachelor as revenenge from being passed up for the gig? That remains a mystery.

As for the show, "The Bachelor" has yet to comment on the potential reveal, since the network planned to announce the official name Wednesday on "Good Morning America."

However, the ABC reality show did post a reminder on Twitter for fans to tune in:
