Joan Rivers Death Hoax Goes Viral Following Heart Attack; Family Looking For Someone To Blame And Might End Up Suing Doctors?

Following a cardiac arrest during a surgery, Joan Rivers death hoax went viral. Social networking websites specifically Facebook and Twitter displayed various reactions from fans who panicked upon hearing the news. The hashtag "RIP Joan Rivers" similarly became trending.

A Facebook page was also established which attracted more than a million of likes. To make Joan Rivers death hoax more believable, the page released a description of the comedienne's alleged passing away:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (August 30, 2014), our beloved television host Joan Rivers passed away. Joan Rivers was born on June 8, 1933 in New York. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

The "Fashion Police" host was admitted to the Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan because of health deterioration. According to reports, the 81-year-old had a heart attack at the time of the surgery.

Meanwhile, sole daughter Melissa Rivers expressed her gratitude for those praying: "Thank you for your continued love and support. We are keeping our fingers crossed."

Despite looking calm, one insider revealed to Daily News that the Rivers family might end up suing some doctors for the procedure which triggered a cardiac arrest: "They are looking for someone to blame." The same source also added that the "In Bed with Joan" host might end up "either a vegetable or in a wheelchair."

Her "Fashion Police" co-stars have also shared recovery wishes for Rivers on Twitter:

"Praying for Joan Rivers and Mel Rivers. Even though Joan's the strongest woman I know, every single prayer counts. I love you, Joan," wrote Giuliana Rancic.

"4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight. I encourage U 2 do the same 4 Joan Rivers my grandma!" penned Kelly Osbourne.
