[Update] Joan Rivers Moved From Intensive Care, Daughter Melissa Says ‘Fashion Police’ Host Is Being ‘Kept Comfortable,’ Condition Remains Unknown

Joan Rivers has been moved out of the ICU. The comedienne's daughter, Melissa Rivers, released a update on Wednesday concerning her mother's care.

"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable. Thank you for your continued support," said Melissa.

Rivers' daughter did not provide any additional information on her mother's condition. On Tuesday, however, Melissa did confirm that her mother was on life support. It is not yet clear if that remains the case.

The 81-year-old host of "Fashion Police" was recently brought out of a medically induced coma after she went into cardiac and respiratory arrest on Aug. 28 following throat surgery.

Rivers remains at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she was taken after an emergency call was made indicating that the star had gone into cardiac arrest.

Melissa also released a statement of gratitude for the outpouring of support for her mother and concern over the star's condition.

"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received," said Rivers' daughter, adding that the family is "keeping our fingers crossed."

According to HollywoodLife.com, E! will postpone production of Rivers' fashion talk show while the star's condition remains uncertain.

"We will not be producing a Fashion Police this week or next as we await Joan and Melissa's return in front and behind the camera," said a spokesperson for E!

Meanwhile, Rivers' unexpected crisis has stirred the comedienne's fans and colleagues. "Fashion Police" co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne have both urged the public to pray for their friend.
