Is Lea Michelle and boyfriend Matthew Paetz on a break? The "Glee" season 6 cast's new beau was noticeably absent during her birthday last Friday and the post-birthday holiday that she hosted in Mexico with friends.

The Us Weekly reported that Lea Michele marked her 28^th birthday on August 29 with her very close friends as they gorged on a five-course menu prepared by Claire Thomas of The Kitchy Kitchen. The menu comprised of burrata platter and roasted garlic crostini, a cauliflower brie soup, kale salad for the appetizers and burrata roasted tomato lasagna for the main course.

Her BFFs Aubrey Dollar, Stephanie Herman, JoAnna Garcia and Jennifer Cohen were there to join the celebration.

The "Glee" season 6 cast tweeted after the party: "So much birthday love today. Makes me so happy... Thank you all for making this day so extra special!"

However, it's not about who was present during the birthday dinner, but who's absent as Matthew Paetz was a no-show, according to MailOnline.

Lea Michele and boyfriend Matthew Paetz have been inseparable in recent weeks as they enjoyed a quick getaway to Italy for the Giffoni Film Festival near Naples. They then took the time to see the sights and enjoy a little sunbathing in the Mediterranean.

They were also snapped several times hiking in Los Angeles, even wearing matching outfits on occasion.

One photo shows her lounging on the infinity pool with her friends along with the caption: "Girls just wanna have fun! Soaking up some sun in gorgeous #Mexico... 28 is feeling great!"
