Hilary Duff On Husband And Ex: Star Addresses Aaron Carter's Repeated Declarations Of Love, Hoping For Reunion With Estranged Mike Comrie?

Hilary Duff just addressed a giant, awkward elephant in the room, in an interview with Buzzfeed. The singer and actress was asked by reporter Stephanie Anderson about ex-boyfriend Aaron Carter, who has repeatedly professed his undying love for her, on Twitter and in interviews. Duff, it turns out, is somewhat perplexed by the whole situation. Beside, she still hasn’t given up on making it work with her estranged husband.

Carter, who dated Duff as a teen in the early 2000’s, first expressed his continued feelings back in March, when he tweeted, “Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever…like me…” He followed up with, “I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to get back with her. I don’t care what ANY of you think.” Then in April, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said, “I don’t know who she is today, and she doesn’t know who I am today, but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got the chance to again, and fix what I did wrong.”

Anderson brought this up during the Buzzfeed interview, saying, “Aaron Carter keeps declaring his love for you, how do you feel about it?” Duff responded with a laugh, and said, “I was not expecting this question. He does, I keep seeing that, that he keeps doing that. I don’t know how I feel. I mean that was so long ago, and obviously I’m still married, and we kind of just…don’t know each other…so…yeah.” Anderson prompted, “So it’s just weird,” to which she laughed again and responded, “You said it, not me!”

The man Duff noted she is “still married” to is Mike Comrie, from whom she has been separated since January. But, as the star also pointed out, that doesn’t mean she’s back on the market. In an interview with “Kyle & Jackie O” on KIIS 106.5 on Wednesday, the singer said that she and the father of her two-year-old son Luca still might patch things up. “I mean, if there wasn’t a chance for getting back [together], I think we would have filed for divorce,” she said, adding that “We’re really laid-back, and we’re like, well whatever happens, happens.”
