IU expressed at the Japan press conference that she wants to be 'the little sister next door.' 

On the 19th IU attended the opening ceremony of Shibuya Hikari's theater in Tokyo.

Accompanied by a guitar, IU sang to West Side Story's song, "Somewhere." After the colorful performance, IU shared her thoughts at the press conference: "In Korea people call me 'Everyone's Little Sister.' In Japan, I want to be called 'the Little Sister Next Door.'" Everyone laughed at her charm.

IU also shared about her second Japanese single, "YOU & I," which placed fourth the day of its release on the 18th. She shared, "It's a song for my future boyfriend- I'm telling him to wait a bit because I'm going to grow up really soon." She also expressed, "The 'Clock Dance' is really cute and easy so, I would love it if you guys could join me."

On September 17th IU will hold her first solo concert in Japan. Her concert is titled, "IU Friendship Special Concert- Autumn 2012."
