Rumor has it that the "Batman" standalone movie will be based on the "Under The Red Hood" comic.
JoBlo claims that the "Batman" solo movie will involve Jason Todd, Dick Grayson's predecessor as the Robin. In the film, Todd will return from the grave as the Red Hood to frame Batman and use his assault on the crime world to lure out both the caped crusader and the Joker into a war.
Grayson will reportedly be referenced as Nightwing in "Batman V Superman," although he won't actually appear onscreen until the "Batman" solo film. The article also alleges that Jason Todd/ Red Hood may have a cameo in "Batman V Superman" or "Suicide Squad."
If "Under The Red Hood" is indeed the "Batman" solo movie's plot, it will confirm what the "Batman V Superman" and "Suicide Squad" trailers have implied about Batman's backstory, claims a report by Screen Rant. Namely, that the film's are incorporating the "Death In The Family" plot where Joker beat Jason Todd to death, leaving Bruce Wayne traumatized.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is still rumored to direct the "Batman" solo movie. The actor-turned-filmaker is currently shooting "Live By Night," his first directorial project since the Best Picture Oscar-winning "Argo" in 2012.
He will then be introduced as Bruce Wayne/Batman in "Dawn of Justice" starring alongside Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred J. Pennyworth and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs," the synopsis reads.
"And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
"Batman V Superman" releases in theaters on March 25, 2016.
