FNC Entertainment continues to demonstrate their philanthropy with the opening of their third school in a developing nation.
"Love FNC School" in San Borondon, Ecuador officially opened its doors on October 23. It is the third school established under The Love FNC School Project, which began in order to bring opportunities of quality education to vulnerable and underprivileged children. "57 percent of the population within these regions are not economically active," a representative of FNC Entertainment explained to the Korea Economic. "According to population census of unemployed day workers and single mothers, developing infrastructure to help children's studies is the most pressing issue."
The first school under this project opened in 2012 in Burkina Faso, a nation in West Africa, thanks to sponsorship from FNC rock group CNBLUE. The second opened in the Philippines after a natural disaster in 2013. CNBLUE leader Jung Yong Hwa has contributed substantially to FNC's project and even wrote the school song for the first school opening in Burkina Faso.
In addition to establishing their own schools FNC Entertainment has also sponsored 80 children through international relief organizations. Their groups, CNBLUE and FTISLAND, have also acted as public relations ambassadors. FNC Entertainment has received accolades for their philanthropy, receiving an award for Most Contributions to Society at the KOSDAQ (the trading board of South Korea's Exchange) awards this past June.
