Foo Fighters Reveals Countdown! Is It Connected To Their Cesena Concert?

A mysterious countdown on the Foo Fighters website has gotten fans' minds boggled. The mysterious clock was launched just a few days before their anticipated concert in Cesena, Italy.

As reported by USA Today, the clock went up the band's website on Thursday. It featured a 24-day countdown clock showing the band's logo and a printed background.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the landing page also presented an audio on loop. The report even said that a brief audio of Dave Grohl can be heard after a while.

"I don't know about that weird three guitar thing," a voice said as told by the source above. "I feel like it should do something else... We should do two."

It seemed the landing page changes after each day. Today with just 22 days left, it showed the same clock but a background of the branches of a tree and a yard. It solely featured an audio on loop without any other voice.

There was no clear explanation what the countdown meant. But EW suggested it might be new music coming as the band apparently revealed in an Oct. 9 performance that they have recently recorded new music that they're going to release in due time.

The Foo Fighters countdown seemingly has no connection as well to the Cesena concert as it will already take place this coming Tuesday. Consequence of Sound, meanwhile, speculated that it might mean that another leg of the "Sonic Highways" tour may be happening as their tour will be ending soon.

For Diffuser, the band's countdown may also mean a second part release for the Emmy-winning "Sonic Highways" series.

"I think there is going to be a 'Sonic Highways II,'" music producer Butch Vig revealed to host Chris Payne as cited by Billboard. "But it's still in discussions right now. I know Dave [Grohl] and HBO are both really want to do it, but it's going to be different. It's not going to be the same exact format as the last album... if it happens, it'll probably happen next summer."

While fans wait for more than 20 more days to find out what the Foo Fighters countdown was about, Rockin' 1000, on the other hand, won't have to wait long for the much-awaited Cesena concert. The performance made possible by a viral video will rock on Nov. 3.
