'Reply 1988' Achieves Record Viewership Rate Of 8.5% During 1st Week Of Broadcast

Fans of the massively popular Reply series have been eager for the release of the third installment, Reply 1988, starring Hyeri of Girl's Day. The first two episodes were broadcasted on Nov. 6 and 7 to a record number of viewers on a cable channel for a show's pilot.

Episode 1 achieved a peak viewship rate of 8.6% and averaged 6.7%. The second episode, which was broadcasted the following day, achieved a peak rate of 8.5% and an average rate of 7.4%. This is considered an extremely high rating for cable dramas, which normally don't even reach 5% viewership rates.

In addition to the high viewership, many were impressed by Hyeri's acting skills, which have improved significantly since her last role in "Hyde, Jekyll, Me". Hyeri seems to have silenced the naysayers and received almost unanimous support from netizens for her heartfelt acting.

Reply 1988 tells the story of 5 families who live on the same road in Seoul. The series will last 20 episodes, with the final episode scheduled to air on January 9th.
