New Album From Tool May Not Come Out Anytime Soon, Maynard Keenan Has Focus On Puscifer

Maynard James Keenan may be busy with his tour with Puscifer, as the band recently released a record and is getting ready for a tour.

Fans of his original band, Tool, however, are getting worried about the fate of a previously announced new album that was supposed to come in the near future.

However, the Tool frontman revealed in a recent interview conducted by Phoenix New Times' David Accomazzo how the singer is focused on his other project as of the moment.

"But as with any time he's asked about Tool, his answers quickly become curt," Accomazzo said. "A hint of exasperation creeps into his voice and he exhales heavily through his nose."

"Yeah, it's there, but people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit," Keenan answered sharing his thoughts about a new Tool album and talked about his other releases. "It's lost. Insufferable people. It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."

New album reports started late last year when Adam Jones revealed that they have been working on a few songs for quite some time already and even revealed how "heavy" the songs were and how it sounds like a Tool song.

"Our greatest strength is jamming and coming up with stuff," Jones said of the new album from Tool in an interview with Rolling Stone. "We're doing that really well now and I'm excited about everything we're working on. Some of it's really heavy, some of it's really complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely Tool."

However, Keenan was also interviewed a few months back and revealed the real progress of their record has been, as pointed out by a Reddit post.

"I write lyrics and melodies to music," he said. "If I don't have music, I can't."
