'Monster Musume' Miia Body Pillow On Sale Again Via Hobidas Market

Sometimes it's hard to imagine the amount of money that fans will shell-out for specialized merchandise related to their favorite series, franchises, super-heros, etc.

After all, if you're going to pay $800 for something, a pillow with a picture on it sounds ridiculous.

But then again, once you've seen the amount of money fans spend in one day at New York Comic Con, nothing shocks you really.

Back by popular demand (considering the complete sell out at Comiket), the special "Monster Musume" Miia body pillow is now on sale again via Hobidas Market. This time around the pillow won't come in the limited C88 bag, but it will still cost 100,000 yen or approximately $800 dollars.

Though the price may seem ridiculously outrageous, some of the price likely comes from the length. Modeled after the original character design for Miia, the body pillow is a full seven-meters long and fits four regular-sized hug pillows.

If you had saved the money and still have it on hand in hopes of an online release you should act now. According to Crunchyroll, the "Monster Musume" Miia body pillow will only be on sale to the end of the month.

For those not familiar with the series, "Monster Musume" was originally a manga by Okayado. Seven Seas Entertainment, which licensed the series outside of Japan, describes the story as follows:

"When a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a "volunteer" into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu's job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life."

It goes on:

"Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Even worse, when a ravishing centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy move in, what's a full-blooded young man with raging hormones to do?!"

The "Monster Musume" anime adaptation aired this summer and Crunchyroll is streaming the series on their website.
