Coming in just hours after its official premiere in Japan, Crunchyroll has confirmed that they will begin streaming the "Digimon Adventure Tri" anime series. The official "Digimon Adventure Tri" release date for fans outside of Japan is set for Nov. 20 at 7AM. The initial release will encompass the first four episodes of the series.
As to be expected, "Digimon" fans are expressing extreme excitement at the news.
"Yes! No waiting for the Blu-ray/DVD. I can't freaking wait," said Stark700.
While it is somewhat unfortunate that the series will only be offered to Crunchyroll premium users, some fans are using the release as a good excuse to go premium.
"This actually convinced me to go premium. Thank you Crunchyroll," said Animechatchat234.
Crunchyroll reports that "Digimon Adventure Tri" will be available for streaming in the United States, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. The company also states that further episodes of "Digimon Adventure Tri" will be scheduled some time in winter 2016.
Along with their "Digimon Adventure Tri" release announcement, Crunchyroll has also revealed a brand new summary of what fans can expect from the new series:
"It's been six years since that summer adventure when Taichi Yagami and the rest of the DigiDestined crossed over to the Digital World. And nearly three years have passed since the final battle between Hikari Yagami's group and BelialVamdemon. As the peaceful days passed by, at some point the gate to the Digital World closed. Not even the DigiDestined know what caused this, and time alone continues to pass."
"On one such day, a Kuwagamon suddenly appears in Odaiba. Its rampage leaves the town in ruins, and the people there in turmoil. Taichi happens to catch sight of the Kuwagamon, and he chases after it all by himself in an effort to halt its rampage. But there's nothing he can do against a Kuwagamon. It's no use... I can't do anything about this alone..."
"Just as the Kuwagamon roars and attacks Taichi, his Digivice begins to emit a bright light..."Taichi, look how big you've grown!"
"With the sound of that nostalgic voice, the story once again begins to move in a big way."
