'Final Fantasy 7' PS4 Remake Update: Game Might Be Available To Nintendo As Well?

The "Final Fantasy 7" PS4 remake is easily one of the most anticipated games in the upcoming years but so far, little is known on the changes and enhancements to be made on this 1997 classic remake.

For fans of Square Enix' JRPG franchise, more can be expected as other iconic games will be brought back to the current-gen consoles. That means fans might get to know the earlier games starting from the first ever "Final Fantasy" and here's the official statement from the company.

"We will revitalize some of our strong IPs in ways that meet the needs of the modern gaming market. For example, we will take an IP developed for earlier generations of game consoles and recreate it for the latest consoles, while also proactively developing versions for play on smart devices," as stated in a press release courtesy of VG24/7.

Fans went on and discussed what would be the most ideal games to do a remake and among the favorites are "Final Fantasy 8," "Final Fantasy 9" and Final Fantasy: Tactics" while other Square Enix favorites include "Parasite Eve" and "Vagrant Story."

Not only that, Square Enix is also planning to incorporate their games to VR, the next level of gaming.

"In addition, we will also explore possibilities involving VR (virtual reality) and other new platforms."

Meanwhile, there is a huge chance that "Final Fantasy 7" PS4 remake won't be exclusively available to Sony's console after all. In a report by iDigitalTimes, the inclusion of FF7 protagonist, Cloud Strife to the "Super Smash Bros." might mean that "Final Fantasy 7" remake might be compatible to Nintendo consoles as well.

"One compelling reason to believe that Final Fantasy 7 could come to the Nintendo NX is the improved relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo in recent years," as stated in the website.
